Adorned in a silvery coat of fine hairs, this popular plant boasts large leaves topped by salmon-pink flowers—both its blooms and foliage are equally stunning. Clinging dramatically to steep cliffs and displaying its beauty for all to see, it's fittingly called the 'Queen of the Cliff' in Japanese, a truly glamorous name. In English-speaking countries, its fuzzy white appearance has earned it the nickname 'Brazilian Edelweiss.' During winter, the eye-catching above-ground parts disappear, leaving behind only its rugged caudex (thickened root base). This striking contrast between the below-ground and above-ground features is especially loved among caudiciform plant enthusiasts. Despite its showy looks, it's actually not too hard to grow, so it seems only natural that, much like cyclamen, it could become a regular feature in florists as a beautiful flowering plant. While you might not see it often in Japan, other Sinningia species are already quite popular as potted flowering plants elsewhere.

多肉福袋2022 エケベリア福袋やハオルチア福袋と内容が被りつつ、普及種がいくつかと、私のコレクションの予備を1品ほど入れて作ろうかなーと思ってます。たとえばシンニンギアの断崖の女王とかユーフォルビアの笹蟹丸なんかは余剰あるんで。峨眉山とかもいいな。買って2年ほど経ったものを1品。
