A unique and charming Tillandsia covered in fluffy, fuzzy hairs. Its higher price compared to other Tillandsias reflects both its rarity and popularity. Native to regions from Peru to Ecuador, it comes from high elevations even loftier than Mt. Fuji. It grows in harsh, arid landscapes with nothing to block the strong sun, alongside agaves and cacti. It's said that, to survive the intense sunlight, it developed long, prominent trichomes (fuzzy hairs). These help it absorb moisture from the air—but ironically, too much water can linger at the base and cause rot. So when caring for it, the key is to avoid the extreme heat of summer while giving it as much sunlight as possible. Unlike other Tillandsias, never soak it in water—stick to a quick misting that dries up right away. Overwatering may strip off its beautiful trichomes, so be careful!
