A selected specimen of A. titanota . Its charm points are its thin, elongated leaf tips, an abundance of them, and their unusually wavy appearance. The leaves are broad, short, and rounded, a form that's also a standout feature (similar to A. isthmensis 'Ohi Kabutogani' f.variegata ). As the plant matures, the marginal teeth become larger and sometimes form near-continuous lines. This is a well-known cultivar that has existed long before the recent rush of new Agave species; it originated in 2005 from a seedling of FO076 at San Marcos GROWNERS nursery (the FO076 itself flowered in the garden of an enthusiast in California). Because its origins are clearly documented, it's officially recognized as a cultivar of A. oteroi . The Chinese name for it is "圓葉拇指" (Yuan Ye Mu Zhi, meaning "Round-leafed Thumb" par;. There's also a crested filigree form, Filigree Crested A. titanota 'Filigree Crested' .
