Said to be "the King of Agave," this plant is often described as having a more "majestic" appearance than even the famed Queen Victoria Agave A. victoriae-reginae , which is sometimes called "the most beautiful." Its leaves are not only longer and more widely spaced than those of the Queen Victoria Agave, giving it an imposing presence, but the deeper, darker green foliage with blackish-brown spines almost seems to symbolize both intelligence and strength. Its growth rate is even slower. This species is reportedly native to regions stretching from the United States to Mexico; however, as for its academic origin or scientific name, opinions are varied: it is sometimes described as a cultivar of A. victoriae-reginae , a natural hybrid with Agave scabra A. scabra , the independent species Agave nickelsiae A. nickelsiae , or even as essentially the same species as A. victoriae-reginae after all. Its classification may well change in the future.

@Agave2ceo うちの妻も笹吹雪というアガベを最近種まいて育て始めましたが、昨日成長がすごく遅いらしく、ある程度見れる姿になるまで7年ぐらいかかるって知って絶望してました笑
