A spherical cactus with deep ribs adorned with small clusters of spines, this species has been popular in Japan for a long time and is often seen in home entrances—it's truly one of the most widespread varieties. It produces white flowers at dawn in early summer. Although it starts off round, it gradually grows into a columnar shape. The spines are short but tough and sharp, so touching them carelessly can be quite painful! There are also interesting variations, such as the variegated "Sekai no Zu E. eyriesii f.variegata ", the spineless "Shimu Tankemaru" type, and the luxurious, extra-fuzzy "Oukan Tankemaru" form. People sometimes confuse it with E. subdenudata because of their similar appearance.

@jpb230659 ça peut être l'oxygona qui fait de magnifiques fleurs rose. J'en ai une aussi mais elle a plus de mal a fleurir. L'echinopsis Eyriesii est très parfumée aussi, on la sentait à plusieurs mètres de distance.
