A cultivated variety of S. kirkii , it gets its name from the way it glimmers a striking silvery blue when bathed in full sunlight. Another defining feature is its intricate, almost reptilian pattern that overlays the silvery-blue base. The leaves are broad, short, and thick. It can also be grown in bright, indirect indoor light. Growth is very slow—indoors, it may produce just one new leaf a year. Due to its rarity, this variety is highly prized. Native to Tanzania.
