A large agave with no spines on its leaves, giving it a sharp, streamlined appearance. Its beautiful blue-green, matte texture really stands out. When fully grown, it can reach a diameter of about 90 to 120 cm—but it grows slowly and may only reach about 45 cm across after six years.
This is a natural hybrid of Agave asperrima A. asperrima and Agave ferdinandi-regis A. ferdinandi-regis (though there are different theories). It was discovered in Mexico and officially registered in the early 1970s. In Japan, it is still quite rare and tends to be fairly expensive.
