Its short, shiny leaves puff up and curve inward, giving this aloe its distinctive charm. This is a compact Aloe species that forms dense clusters of small rosettes and grows to about 30cm. Originating from the highlands of southern Somalia, it doesn't tolerate cold well—while it can withstand temperatures down to 5°C if kept dry, it's safer to bring it indoors before temps drop below 15°C. Since it prefers partial shade, a bright indoor spot is likely just right. The plant in the photo is the yellow-leaved variant, 'Yellow-leafed Jucunda.'
