It looks just like A. potatorum 'Kisshoukan Nishiki' ... or rather, it's a newcomer that's often mistaken for it. There are two theories about its origin: one is that it's a hybrid, the other is that it's a selected seedling of Kisshoukan. It is said to have a base color that's a darker, more lustrous blue compared to Kisshoukan Nishiki, and its spines are a deep red that stays vibrant for a long time. This variety's name comes from Tradewinds Nursery, run by John Lucas, who is believed to have brought the plant from Thailand to the United States.
